Frisco ISD continues to be the fastest growing school district in the state of Texas. During the past six years, FISD has grown by 20-30 percent annually in student population. Within the 72 square miles of the city’s district, FISD serves residents of Collin and Denton Counties including residents of Frisco, and some portions of Plano, Little Elm and McKinney.
Frisco is one of the fastest growing cities in the North Texas Region as determined by the North Texas Council of Governments. With a 2000 census of 33,714, Frisco has grown 449 percent since the 1990 census population figure of 6,138. By November 2005, our population soared to 81,229 residents, and as of February 1st, 2013 130,020 people call Frisco home.
Located in the booming northern suburbs of Dallas, straddling the border of Collin and Denton counties, Frisco is a bedroom community for many professionals who work in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. It is surrounded by major highways going all directions, allowing commuters to easily skirt anywhere from Frisco to all destination points in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

Frisco’s public schools are rated a 10 out of 10 on the GreatSchools™ Rating, which is based on test scores, student academic growth and college readiness. Currently nearing a population of about 140,000 residents, Frisco is known for its “green” building and resource preservation leadership, having consistently earned the designation of "Tree City USA" by the National Arbor Day Foundation in recognition of environmental improvement and a higher level of tree care and tree preservation within the community.
Frisco’s Dr. Pepper Ballpark is home to the Frisco Rough Riders minor league baseball team and has been rated one of the best minor league ball parks in the country. Its FC Dallas Soccer Stadium makes Frisco the Metroplex’s hub for professional soccer. The Warren Sports Complex draws many youth sports teams to Frisco with its seven lighted football/soccer game fields, four lighted baseball/softball game fields, two lighted basketball courts, two lighted tennis courts, two sand volleyball courts, a playground systems, fully stocked eight acre fishing pond, trails and recreation facilities.
